Was appointed an expert witness by the Commercial Court of London in litigation pertaining to the Indian security scam of 1992. Was appointed by IBA on a committee set up to review the effectiveness of Bank audits. Was appointed on a Committee to advise on privatisation of electricity distribution in Orissa. Was appointed on a Committee to advise on restructuring of State PSUs in West Bengal. Was appointed on a Committee to advise the Government of Assam on promoting industries in the State. Was a member of the Kelkar Committee on Direct Taxes.  Was a member of the regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee, Govt. of India.  Was one of the Founder Members of the Services Export Promotion Council set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India. Was a member of the Indo-UK Accountancy Task Force. Was appointed by the Planning Commission, Government of India on the Steering Panel for the 11^th Five Year Plan for the North East. Has been a member of the State Planning Board of a State in North–East India. Was a member of two Expert Committees set up by Finance Ministry, Govt. of West Bengal and has been a member of a Standing Committee set up by Ministry of Health, Govt. of West Bengal. Has led an Indian business legation to Spain and Portugal and has also led an Indian business delegation in meeting with the Prime Minister of a South East Asian country. Has addressed seminars and conferences in London, New York, Beijing, Los Angeles, Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Dhaka, Kathmandu, and other parts of the world and has also traveled to over 47 countries.

• Was a member of the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and was Chairman of the Auditing Practices Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.  Was Chairman of Eastern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
• Has been a President   (Eastern Region) of the Indo-American   Chamber of   Commerce and has been Chairman (Eastern Region) of the Confederation of Indian Industry.  Has been a member of the National Council of C.I.I.
