Professor Michael Bourlakis
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Professor Michael Bourlakis is the Director of Research for Cranfield School of Management and the Head of the Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management Group. Michael is an internationally renowned and established authority in logistics and supply chain management specialising in food and retail supply chain management, sustainable supply chain, digital supply chains. He has been very successful in winning substantial external funding. Specifically, he has won 45 research and consulting projects (as PI or Co-I) totalling more than £45 million (total allocated project funding) from various bodies (BBSRC, EPSRC, Food Standards Agency, Technology Strategy Board, EU [FPVI, FPVII], Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Marie Skłodowska-Curie) and private companies. Professor Michael Bourlakis has generated 85 journal papers and 5 edited books. He sits on the Editorial Board of 15 journals, he has been a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Logistics: Research & Applications and has also acted 11 times as the Guest Editor for journal special issues.
Professor Bourlakis has been involved with pre- and post-project evaluations for the European Commission and he has acted as an Expert Reviewer and / or Panel Member for numerous funding bodies [Academy of Finland, AXA Research Fund, Flanders Research Foundation (Belgium, FWO), Czech Science Foundation, French National Research Agency, Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NOW), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Canada), Research Grants Council of Hong Kong etc.] Professor Bourlakis has been a Chair, Keynote Speaker and a Committee Member for numerous, leading logistics academic and industry conferences worldwide. Michael has been an External Examiner for Undergraduate (7 times) and Postgraduate programmes (6 times) as well as PhD viva voce (42 times) involving leading universities in UK and the world. Professor Bourlakis has been an External Member and / or External Referee of University Panels for numerous Chair appointments and he is a Visiting Professor at various European universities.
Michael is the Vice President (International) for the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport - CILT (UK) and his multidisciplinary research work and impactful thought leadership has received considerable attention by media (BBC News, ITV News, BBC Radio 4 Today, The Guardian, The Independent, The Times, Wall Street Journal etc.). He had been a member of the European Technology Platform (Food for Life, European Commission), a Member of an Expert Panel for the European Commission (DG Research & Innovation) working with leading retailers (Tesco, Carrefour, Metro). He has worked with numerous multinational organisations (e.g. Carrefour, DHL, Knight Frank, Leonardo, Tesco etc.) and, in 2017, he was an Expert Panel Member for TESCO on a “Future of Food Advisory Panel” – this Panel was chaired by TESCO’s previous CEO Dave Lewis. In 2018, he acted as an Expert for the UK Government / DEFRA in relation to the “Impact of Brexit on Food Supply Chains”. During 2021-22 he acted as a REF2021 Panel Member for UoA17 “Business and Management” which involved the evaluation of the research performance of all UK Business Schools and he was the first Panel member representing the “Logistics, Operations and Supply Chain Management” field.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Julien Cayla is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Nanyang Business School (Singapore). Professor Cayla received his PhD from the University of Colorado (Boulder, United States) where he majored in marketing and minored in cultural anthropology. His work has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing, Organization Studies and Sloan Management Review. His research on consumer experiences has been featured in a range of media outlets such The Atlantic, the BBC, the Straits Times and Channel News Asia. He is currently serving as Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Research.
Tanvi Mehta has been an academic writing coach, trainer and editor for academics in business for the last 20 years. She has institutional and individual clients across the world. She has had over 200 individual clients who publish in top journals in their fields. She has offered versions of this workshop for institutions such as Cardiff University, Newcastle University, Aalto University, University of Vaasa, Neoma Business School, ESCP, and ISB. She provides editorial support for academics through close work partnerships that involve coaching, training, editing and revising.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr. Qizhang Liu is Associate Professor at the Department of Analytics and Operations, NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. He chairs the Faculty Teaching Excellence Committee of the school and is a member of Biz Teaching Excellence Council and MSBA Academic Committee. Dr Liu has been teaching analytics related courses since joining NUS in 2011. Currently, he oversees the development of Business Analytics Specialisation in Business School.

Dr. Mattila has specialized in the management of information security and technical information security. He is an expert in risk management, cyber security and privacy protection. Prof. Dr. Michael Troege
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Michael Troege has been teaching Finance at ESCP Europe since 2000. Professor Troege received a master in Mathematics from the Ludwig Maximilians Universitat Munchen in 1993. He then obtained a DESS in Finance from the lnstitut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and in 1999 a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Humboldt Universitat Berlin. Prior to joining ESCP Europe he was research associate at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB) a government sponsored think tank and visiting scholar at J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Professor Troege's research focuses on game theory and commercial banking. In particular, he is studying the competitive interaction of banks in credit markets. In this context he has participated as expert in the European Commission's Sector Inquiry in Retail banking published in 2007. His articles have been published in a variety of academic and practitioner-oriented journals including the Journal of Mathematical Economics, Cames and Economic Behaviour, Journal of Economics, European Journal of Finance, International Journal of Industrial Economics, Annales d'Economie et de Statistiques and EC Competition Policy Newsletter. more..

Dr. Swee Hoon Ang
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Prof. Ang Swee Hoon is an Associate Professor at the Department of Marketing, NUS Business School. She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of British Columbia. She has written several leading Marketing textbooks with Philip Kotler for Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She co-authored a series titled Kiasunomics: Stories of Singaporean Economic Behaviours that brings behavioral economic research to the general population to help them make sense of what they do so that they learnto make better decisions for a smarter-thinking nation. She has received almost 14000 citations on Google Scholar. Professor Ang is an outstanding educator having been honored with the university's Teaching Excellence Awards on numerous occasions. more..
