To demonstrate that IMT Dubai follows excellent academic standards. IMT will immediately start the process of accreditation with all those international agencies which are doing accreditations in the Middle East. These could be Forbes, QS, AACSB, EQUIS, or AMBA.
Faculty development will be intensified.
In the future, the emphasis will be on faculty diversity.
As Dubai is primarily a large market for undergraduate studies, IMT will emphasize the BBA program. The target should be to enroll 100 students per year. The local market is believed to be strong enough to support this target. At least 30% of this enrollment of 100 per year should come from countries outside the UAE.
IMT will intensively seek accreditation in neighboring countries such as Oman, Bahrain, etc. to attract students from such countries.
IMT will revamp and reposition the one-year MBA offering. This is a good and unique offering. The target should be to have at least 150 students in each batch. Such students would be a mix of those from India, the UAE, and other markets.
By this student population will add up to 400 BBA students over a period of four years and 150 students from MBA. To support this number of students the faculty strength will increase. This will create a critical mass of faculty which will then take on MDP and research projects.
IMT must start short time certificate courses on subjects that are of contemporary interest. Such short-term certificate courses will be in collaboration with the best-known international universities in Europe or USA. The subjects for such courses will be such as are attractive to the local market.
IMT must start with customized MDPs for local corporates even if it is on a small scale.
Collaborations with international universities must be actively encouraged. Over a period of the next 18 months, IMT should have one or two joint research projects, dual degree programs, and course offerings that are jointly conducted by Dubai and a different university.
