Battle of Bands

Participate in one of the most anticipated events of Vaudeville, Battle of Bands where Bands from different colleges come together to compete and emerge as the best Band.

Rules & Regulations

  • Entry Division: Band performance
  • Team Size: 3-10
  • Rounds: 1
  • Participation per college is not restricted to a single team per college
  • Time limit: Max 25 minutes (15 minutes for performance and 10 minutes for stage setup)
  • Stage Specification: Open Stage with audience on one side of the stage
  • One drum kit and two vocal microphones will be provided. Rest all the instruments must be arranged by the band itself.
  • All music must be played live on stage. No lip-syncing and no computer programming on stage.
  • The judges will take final decision and result.
  • The organizing committee may change the format of the event, if needed.

Please provide the list of equipment you would be using for your performance and the names of the band members who would be performing.

Symphony of Dubai

When words fail, Music speaks. Showcase your Musical talent by participating in the Symphony of Dubai. Participants can perform solo or Duet.

Movie making contest

We invite entries from fellow students to make student films, which express their thoughts, view and feelings.

  • Time limit: Max 10 minutes (including introduction and end credits), Minimum time 3 minutes
  • Stage Specification: Top 5 will be showcased on the LED stage and (depending on entries)
  • One person cannot participate in more than one movie
  • The judges will take final decision and result.
  • The organizing committee may change the format of the event, if needed.
  • Languages of the movies can only be English.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)

CS:GO is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game. The game pits two teams against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both sides are tasked with eliminating the other while also completing separate objectives, the Terrorists, depending on the game mode, must either plant the bomb or defend the hostages, while the Counter-Terrorists must either prevent the bomb from being planted, defuse the bomb, or rescue the hostages. There are eight game modes, all of which have distinct characteristics specific to that mode.

RULES:

  1. Teams of 5 players.
  2. Map pool: Dust 2, Inferno, Cache, Mirage, Overpass and Nuke.
  3. Match length – First to 16 round wins (Classic competitive match).
  4. All server commands set to classic matchmaking values.
  5. Tie breakers will go to overtime.
  6. An overtime will be played with mp_max rounds 6 and mp_start money 16000.
  7. Each team has one timeout per each half.
  8. Maps will be decided randomly out of the map pool for the matchups.
  9. Use of third-party software and or script is not allowed.
  10. We will be accepting at max 32 teams.
  11. You can bring your own equipment.

DOTA 2

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game. Dota 2 is played in matches between two teams of five players, with each team occupying and defending their own separate base on the map. Each of the ten players independently controls a powerful character, known as a “hero”, who all have unique abilities and differing styles of play. During a match, players collect experience points and items for their heroes to successfully defeat the opposing team’s heroes in player versus player combat. A team wins by being the first to destroy a large structure located in the opposing team’s base, called the “Ancient”.

RULES:

  1. Teams of 5 players each.
  2. The team who destroys the opponent’s throne/ancient first wins or if the opponent surrenders.
  3. The hero pool always consists of all available heroes in Captains Mode.
  4. We will be accepting at max 32 teams.
  5. You can bring your own equipment.

FIFA 18

FIFA 18 is a football simulation video game in the FIFA series. FIFA 18 is a sports game that simulates association football. The game features 52 fully licensed stadiums from 12 countries, including new stadiums, plus 30 generic fields for a total of 82. All 20 Premier League stadium are represented in the series.

RULES:

  1. We will be accepting at max 100 players.
  2. No 2 on 2 matches, only 1 on 1 valid.
  3. Players can select any team they prefer but only from the club teams. (no international teams, or world XI or classic XI)
  4. Initially the halves will be of 5 minutes. For Quarters, Semis, and Final the halves will be of 6 minutes.
  5. In case of draw, we will directly go into penalties. For Quarters, Semis, and Final we will have extra time and then followed by penalties.
  6. No changes in the club squad will be entertained. You will have to play with inbuilt squads.
  7. 2 minutes will be given to configure the controllers. You can bring your own controllers and keyboards.

NEED FOR SPEED: MOST WANTED

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is an open world racing game. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set in an open world environment. The game takes on the gameplay style of the first Most Wanted title in the Need for Speed franchise. Most Wanted allows players to select one car and compete against other racers in three types of events: Sprint races, which involves traveling from one point of the city to another, Circuit races, each having two or three laps total and Speed runs, which involve traversing through a course in the highest average speed possible.

RULES:

  1. Basic Round:

1) In this round sprint & circuit races will be played.

2) Four participants will be competing in this round.

3) At the end of one race the participant standing last position will be knocked out and remaining 3 will race again.

4) With this process 1 participant will be the winner after 3 races and will be advanced to next round.

Advance Rounds:

1) In these rounds there will be 3 races between the participants.

2) Four participants will be competing in this round

3) First will be Sprint, second will be 2 lap circuit and the third will be 3 lap circuit.

4) The participant winning 2 of the 3 races will be in the semi final.

5) If a participant wins 2 races continuously, then the third race will not be run.

6) This process will be continued until we get top 9 participants.

Semi Finals:

1) In semi finals there will be 5 races between participants

2) Three participants will be competing in this round

3) First will be Sprint, 2nd will be 2 lap circuit, 3rd will be Sprint, 4th will be 3 lap circuit and 5th will be Drag

4) At the end of First race the participant standing last position will be knocked out and remaining 2 will race again

5) All the remaining races will be run, no matter a participant wins 3 races continuously

6) At the end of all races the participant who wins most races will be advanced to finals

Finals

1) In finals there will be 6 races between participants

2) Three participants will be competing in this round

3) First will be Sprint, 2nd will be 2 lap circuit, 3rd will be Sprint, 4th will be 3 lap circuit, 5th will be Drag and 6th will be OUTRUN** (details of this race are mentioned at the end of this page). 4) Only In the 4th race participants are allowed to choose their own ride and customize it in the My Cars section.

5) At the end of First race the participant standing last position will be knocked out and remaining 2 will race again.

6) If each participant wins 3 races then an extra sprint race will be run.

**OUTRUN

This race is conducted in two parts.

The loop for this race will be NFS World Loop.

Two participants will be competing in this race.

The goal of this race is not to get on first place.

In the first part of this race any one of the participants will be selected by co-ordinators.

Now when the race will start, the selected participant must get lead from his opponent and he has to maintain this lead throughout the race.

If the opponent gets lead at any time during the race, the time duration of his lead will be recorded. So the selected participant must get his lead back from his opponent. But if the selected participant gets lead during the race no time will be recorded.

If the opponent gets lead more than a “certain distance” (this distance will be decided at the time of tournament) from the selected participant then the selected participant will lose this part of race.
