HR Conclave 2019
IMT Business School, Dubai had the privilege of successfully hosting the HR Conclave 2019. Our esteemed panelists and industry leaders shared their knowledge and insights with students, faculty, and industry professionals. Two thoroughly engaging panel discussions were followed by a showcase of in house design thinking projects by students. IMT Dubai would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the industry leaders, faculty, students and staff for their overwhelming support and contribution”

IMT hosted Dr. Amit Singh, Head of Corporate HR, Aster DM Healthcare
Dr. Amit Singh took the stage to enlighten students about Career Management. He started the session by pointing out the fact that many of us forget “Life and Career are two different things”. Dr. Singh emphasized; That having a clear plan is secondary to having a clear sense of direction of one’s career because plans can fail.

Dr. Singh also shared that “Skills get you through the door, capabilities get you a seat on the table.” He talked about the importance of classroom teaching in helping students develop skill and the importance of the B-school experience for acquiring capabilities. He also shared how taking feedback is pivotal.

Dr. Singh concluded with highlighting the fact that life is to be measured in happiness, choice, and successful pursuit of a purpose and finally maintaining integrity.

IMT hosted Ms. Victoria Zagorsky,Founder Insight Middle East and Africa
IMT Dubai had the pleasure of hosting Ms. Victoria Zagorsky, Founder, Insight Middle East and Africa.
She spoke about the 4th Industrial Revolution Era the world currently faces and the skills we need to reap benefits from it. Ms. Zagorsky emphasized on how important it is for businesses to generate insights into Human Behaviour and how the 4th generation Industrial Revolution technologies like Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence can achieve these goals.
The session came to a close as Ms. Zagorsky shared with the students how “Data is the new oil” that will fuel our industries and why is it important to efficiently manage it.

IMT hosted Mr. Rohit Manucha, head of Human Resource, Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company.

On 4th September, IMT Dubai hosted Mr. Rohit Manucha, head of Human Resource, Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company. He shared his valuable insights on the importance of AI and design thinking and its potential to re-define the business processes of today. He interacted with IMT students about the scope of HR in current and future scenarios while illustrating examples of how he has been instrumental in changing the best practices in his organization.

IMT Business School hosted Mr. Sriram Rajan- Head OD & Talent at SIG Combibloc Obeikan.

“To lead people, walk behind them”- Lao Tzu

The students of IMT Business School learned this concept by one such leader, Mr. Sriram Rajan- Head OD & Talent at SIG Combibloc Obeikan.

Mr. Rajan delivered a guest lecture on the topic “Making Leadership Stick”. This guest lecture was conducted as a part of IMTea Expert Talks.

The focus of the talk was on the design of leadership paradigms to instil leadership skills. There were several essential elements explained like “Trend as you end”, “Refine before you Design” and “Design Paradigms and not Programs”.

His talk also highlighted some important points that an aspiring leader should keep in mind like “Don’t fear, focus on being clear”, “Value our values” and “Dare to do what you have not done before”.

The session was very interactive and the students really learned a lot from this.

We would like to thank Mr. Sriram for taking out time to address the students. We wish to have him more like this in the future and maintain a long term association.

IMT Dubai students hosted Mr. Rajesh Garg - Group CFO, Landmark group for IMTeaTalks session

The students of IMT Dubai were fortunate to host Mr. Rajesh Garg – Group CFO, Landmark group at the campus for an interactive session on the topic: “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish, Stay Honest: The 3 key traits to progress in career and life”.

Mr. Garg discussed the key big trends in today’s world like Network Effect, Automation, Analytics & Cognition in detail. He explained how staying hungry is correlated with being competitive, staying foolish is correlated with being curious and staying honest is correlated with character.

He talked about how innovation based on A.I. and Blockchain has surpassed the predictions of classical laws like Moore’s Law and Nielsen’s Law. He explained it by introducing the students with innovation happening at Landmark Group and other companies.

The session was organized as a part of IMTea Talks by the Enterprise Relations Committee and Mr. Garg honored the efforts of students by signing the customary Tea Cup.
