IMT Dubai Accepted into Global Business School Network
GBSN Membership Provides Platform to Expand Access to Quality, Locally Relevant Management Education Across the Globe
In January IMT Dubai was accepted into the Global Business School Network, based in Washington D.C., which works to build management education capacity for the developing world. IMT Dubai joins a network of over 70 leading business schools from 37 countries committed to creating opportunities and improving lives through access to quality, locally relevant management education.
As a GBSN member, IMT Dubai will have unique opportunities to network, share knowledge, and engage in programs to advance management education across borders. GBSN’s work strengthens the pool of talent available to lead local, regional and multinational organizations working in emerging markets. Through this unique network of schools with a shared vision, budding entrepreneurs and aspiring leaders can access high quality training that combines international best practice with local relevance.
IMT Dubai’s membership in GBSN continues a longstanding commitment to educational excellence and international impact. IMT Dubai is the only stand-along business school in Dubai to be accredited by the ministry of Education and are the first member in GBSN from the Middle East. IMT Dubai joins GBSN to continue to uplift the skills and competencies of the students in UAE, as well as to contribute by sharing their knowledge of the region with the broader network.
“As the first member from the Middle East, we will bring our experience in the area and will also benefit from the vast experience of the existing members. We are ready to participate in all the activities and become an active member of the network.” said Director Francois Therin.
As an organization, GBSN aims to address one of the most pressing concerns for businesses and NGOs alike in the developing world: the lack of an educated workforce with the skills and knowledge to build businesses and lead teams to success. Instead of encouraging talented students to leave their communities for education, which often leads to a “brain drain,” GBSN promotes access to management education at home. By building the capacity of local faculty, modernizing educational methods and developing programs that meet local needs, GBSN provides a sustainable solution to meet the management needs in the developing world.
In addition to supporting educational programs, GBSN also aims to strengthen business schools’ role as knowledge generators and disseminators of innovation. IMT Dubai is able to contribute to the development of businesses and social programs beyond the walls of the classroom.
The Global Business School Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening management, entrepreneurial and leadership talent for the developing world through improved access to quality, locally relevant education. GBSN harnesses the power of a network of over 70 leading business schools on 6 continents that share a dedication to our mission to build management education capacity for the developing world. Through international events, advocacy and local capacity building projects, GBSN facilitates cross-border networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Since 2003 GBSN has worked with our growing list of member schools to improve business education around the world, including helping to develop hundreds of local teaching cases in Kenya, establish a new business school in Pakistan, and bring progressive teaching techniques to a school in Malaysia.
